The Mud Bath Problem
A muddy garden is caused by poor drainage. When rain hits heavy North East clay or compacted builder's rubble, it has nowhere to go. It sits on the surface, mixing with the top layer of dirt to create a permanent, squelchy mud bath that ruins your shoes and your dog's paws.
Our Drainage Protocol
- Excavation: We dig out the sticky, muddy surface layer entirely.
- Sub-Soil Decompaction: We use heavy machinery to churn the solid clay underneath, creating pathways for water to escape deep into the ground.
- The Sand & Loam Mix: We import highly porous sandy loam topsoil. This acts as a massive sponge, filtering water away from the surface.
- Heavy-Duty Turf: Finally, we lay a thick, stadium-grade turf whose deep roots lock the soil in place, ensuring you never see a patch of mud again.
