Questions about turf laying
How much does turf laying cost?
Size is only part of it. The condition of the soil, access for turf and waste, and whether there's an old lawn to lift all change the price, so we price every garden individually and list what's covered. Our turf laying cost guide explains what affects the price.
How long does it take to lay a lawn?
Most gardens are finished within a day. Bigger gardens, or ones that need a lot of levelling or clearing first, may need longer, which your quote will make clear.
Do you take the old lawn away?
Yes. Where the old lawn needs lifting, we cut it out and remove it for you. Builders' rubble is priced separately because it's heavier and costs more to dispose of.
Which areas do you cover?
Every area of Newcastle upon Tyne, the coast at Whitley Bay, Tynemouth, North Shields and South Shields, plus Gateshead, Sunderland, Washington and Morpeth, and towns across Northumberland and County Durham. If you're just outside, ask anyway.
Can you lay turf all year round?
